Transforming my room
with items from Family Dollar
This was the picture that inspired me to go for it...
I TOOK MY ROOM FROM THIS:
Above my room is dull but starts to slowly take shape as I use inexpensive
dollar store items to give it a quick and easy makeover...
Here are the items I used:
A long black curtain rod
2 Sheer curtains
1 box small lights
The first thing I did was measure where I wanted to place the curtain rod. Next I put up the brackets for the curtain rod. After making sure it was placed where I needed it then I proceeded to cut my sheer curtain panel. I thought that one would be wide enough but it was not. I cut it in half to make two but it came up a little short. It would have worked better with 2 sheer panels.
I then placed the panels on the curtain rod and hung it in place. Once it was secure, I proceeded to hang the lights around the rod. I wrapped the plug part on the curved end of the rod so it would be hidden in the corner then attached it with a wire wrapper that usually comes on a bread loaf. I repeated that on the other end and allowed the lights to hang in the middle then also attached another tie in the middle.
Voila!! My make over is complete...hahaha
FROM THIS:
TO THIS:
Long single black curtain rod $ 1.50
Sheer curtain panel $ 1.50
Clear mini lights $ 3.00
Total $ 6.00
My room makeover cost me $6.00 and was so easy to do...lol
NOTE: If you are placing this over a twin sized bed, one sheer curtain panel may be enough.
My bed is queen size.
